A message from Heather Pearson, Principal Practitioner, re the COVID19 Pandemic: UPDATED DEC 18, 2021

The clinic has been open again, following the COVID19 lockdown, since early July 2020. We are available for both face to face and telehealth consultations.

We have a detailed COVID19 Safety Policy, which is available on request. We are doing a disinfectant clean of the clinic rooms, bathrooms and reception between each patient, and implementing strict infection prevention protocols.

As Osteopaths using manual therapy, we can stay 1.5 metres away from our patients while in the reception room and while discussing patient details in our clinic rooms. However, we cannot physically distance while treating patients. For this reason, during treatments, we are wearing PPE, which may include scrubs, face masks and face shields,; depending on current public health guidelines. We are doing everything to keep ourselves and our patients well and safe, during this pandemic.

I am available on the phone or via email. For enquiries or appointments, please phone or email me.

We respectfully request that when you attend our clinic that you use the hand sanitiser on entering the reception room, either check in using the Tasmanian Check In App or by signing in to our attendance log book; and that you practise physical distancing while in the clinic. When guided by public health guidelines, we may also request that you wear a mask while in the clinic. If you have any concerns, please discuss these with your practitioner.

We also request that if you have any respiratory symptoms such as a cold, cough, runny nose, or fever; that you cancel your appointment and proceed to get tested for COVID19. Also, if you, or anyone you live with, has been asked to quarantine or self-isolate; or has just returned from overseas or interstate, that you not attend the clinic for two weeks. We will happily reschedule your appointment.

If you have an appointment and do not wish to wait in the waiting room, you are welcome to stay in your car in the car park. Please send us an SMS message as a reply to your appointment reminder SMS when you arrive, and we will message you when we are ready for you to come into the clinic room.

As our usual practice, all of our patient contact details are kept confidential and secure. However, if we are asked by the Public Health Authorities, to give them these details for the purpose of contact tracing, in relation to any possible COVID19 outbreak, we would immediately supply them with these details, and immediately inform you that we had done so.

Now as the community has a high vaccination rate, as a reflection of the care we have for each other, we are now going to learn to live with COVID. It is so important, that we continue to practise physical distancing, good hygiene and infection prevention; and at the same time stay in touch with each other and feel grateful and proud that in Australia we have done such a fantastic job, as a community, in managing COVID19, and protecting our health system and the vulnerable members of our community!

Be kind, support each other, and stay safe and well.

Warm wishes,
Heather Pearson
